Building on the Rock of Faith
The weekend of October 4th, 2003 will long be remembered as a historic weekend in the development of our church. It was highlighted by the unprecedented community-wide support at the Saturday night banquet, followed on Sunday with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy by our new Primate, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian which also included the ordination of four Acolytes, three Stole Bearers and one Deacon.
Our hard-working banquet committee did an exceptional job of planning and implementing the gala banquet on Saturday night including the presentation of the medals of honor, the unveiling of the design of our future church and a phenomenal start to our "Building on the Rock of Faith" fundraising campaign for the construction of our future church. As the evening progressed, the enthusiasm escalated as our people opened their hearts and gave generously. A review of the pledges amplifies an overwhelming statistic that more than 50% of the people in attendance participated in the fundraising pledge campaign. This is a very powerful symbol and a clear indication that we are ready for this church.
Thanks to you, we've had a great start toward our goal of raising $1,500,000 for the design and construction of our future church. We are now one-third there or in the early stages of an exciting journey. Please, take this opportunity to have a direct and lasting impact on the development of your community and think and give with your heart.
